[FI8918W] Audio on Macs?

Hi,
I understand that audio only works via IE, but are there plans for the Mac to support audio in the future? Maybe via a firmware upgrade? If so, ETA?
I love my FI8918W! It kicks butt. Great price. :)

Agreed - needs audio in other browsers besides Internet Explorer. I work at a Apples only facility, so I'm out of luck and am considering returning my new F18918W camera. Very irritated. Anyone know if there's aftermarket software that allows my IP pan-tilt camera to have audio?

Yeah... with the growing number of Mac users out there, with crazy disposable income, you'd think they would at least build a Mac OSX client that can interface with the audio stream. (Although a browser based solution is probably only a quick java app away from reality).
I just bought one, love the picture and features... BUT the rest of my household/work is Mac so I will likely return it if I can't find a solution. An *ALMOST* great product. (fi8918w)

Maybe a solution, run IE on Parralles?
I take that back. I just tried it and it doesn't work... can't ping it from the command line either.
Should work in Bootcamp.... but then why have a Mac (besides wanting to pay twice as much)?

You can both record and get audio from a Foscam on a mac using VLC player. Simply input this to VLC 'open network' or Url. - A bit late, I know but hope this helps.

I have a Mac and VLC but cannot figure out how/where to specifically plug in the info you provided. Any chance of a short step by step of how and where to put this into VLC?

Make sure you have the latest version of VLC: 1.1.9. and follow these steps.
1.) Open up VLC, from the menubar on the top of the screen click on 'FILE' ---> 'Open Network'
2.) Type in

Code: Select all: http://ipcam_url/videostream.asf?user=username&pwd=password

in the URL field.
3.) Type YOUR foscams ip address and don't forget the :8080 <-- at the end to designate port number
3.) Type in YOUR username after user= and type in YOUR password after pwd=
4.) click Open and you should be good to go. If you wish to save your stream to file, check the 'Streaming/Saving' box and select where you wish to save the file to, and check in the box 'Display Stream Locally' if you wish to watch the stream as it records. Hope this helps! Enjoy
Review: So if I had my foscam set at port 1080 and username is admin and password is mac, this is what I would input to VLC:

I'm using dyndns.com for their dynamic hosting services,what example of a link should I use in VLC Open Network?
The example you showed before before doesn't work for me, unless I've missed something?

Well I figured it out myself, and I just had to use the actual IP address (123.1.2.3.0), not the URL (XXX.dyndns.org:80).
Audio isn't that great, cuts in and out a lot, could be my connection but I'm gonna try an external mic to see if it improves.
Anyone got any suggestions for the iPhone, so we can hear the audio? The picture pulls up great in Safari but no audio.
