Device will not power on
When you press the power button, your DYMO LabelWriter 450 does not turn on.
Device is not plugged in

Check that your LabelWriter is properly receiving power by making sure the power adapter is plugged in all the way into the back of the device.
Device is loose in wall jack
Check to make sure that your device is inserted all the way into the wall jack. The power adapter that comes with the LabelWriter ends in a large box, so it is possible that it may have come loose in the wall jack.
Device will not connect to the computer
Your computer will not recognize your DYMO LabelWriter 450.
USB cable is not the correct type
First, make sure you have a USB Type A to USB Type B cable (it comes included with your LabelWriter). The LabelWriter requires a USB Type B cable, so if you have misplaced the cable that came in the box, you will need to get another one.
USB cable is not properly inserted
Second, make sure the cable is securely inserted into the correct ports on both the device and your computer by inserting each end of the cable until they will not go any further.
Computer does not have the correct drivers
If your LabelWriter will still not connect to your computer, try downloading the corresponding drivers from the DYMO website by searching for 'DYMO LabelWriter 450' and clicking Support on its DYMO device page.
Poor print quality
Your DYMO LabelWriter 450 is printing faded labels or missing letters on the labels entirely.
3rd party labels
Labels that are not made by DYMO may not work with your LabelWriter. 3rd party labels may have different thermal sensitivity than DYMO labels, and the perforated holes on 3rd party labels may not be recognizable by the device. Make sure your labels are genuine DYMO LabelWriter brand labels.
Dirty print head
To clean the print head, first remove the label roll by lifting the lid and pressing the black-and-white eject button on the right-hand side of the device. Clean the print head and the bottom of the label roll with a small, soft brush or cotton swab.
Old or defective labels
It is also possible that the label roll in the device is old, or has become defective. To check for a defective roll, insert a different roll from a new box. If the new roll produces a print with no problems, it means that the old roll was old or defective.
Device does not respond to input
Your DYMO LabelWriter 450 is frozen, and will not respond to input and will not print.

Device is not responding
First, you can try unplugging the LabelWriter from the computer and the wall, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging it back in. It is possible that your LabelWriter is overloaded, and a restart of the device will solve the problem.
Software is unresponsive
Second, you can check your computer to see if the DYMO Label software is responding properly. To check if the software is responding, you can bring up the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL, or CTRL+Shift+ESC on Windows 10) on Windows or Force Quit (CMD+Option+ESC) on Mac. If the Label software is not responding, you can wait for it to start responding again, or quit the program and reopen it.
Computer is not recognizing device
It is also possible that your computer is not recognizing the LabelWriter. If you are certain that you have the correct drivers for the device installed on your computer, restarting the computer may solve this problem.
Labels are cut off

Your DYMO LabelWriter 450 is printing misaligned letters, and cutting off labels at the wrong points.
